Do you need to audition?
Yes, students who are interested in pursuing the music pathway are required to audition. Students who wish to participate only in an ensemble should contact the director for more information.
Theory Placement Test
If it is determined that you need to audition, a music theory placement test will be given before the audition to evaluate your basic understanding of the fundamentals of music. Individual sight singing evaluations will be done during the audition time. The Theory Entrance Exam deals with note recognition, scales; major, harmonic minor and melodic minor, intervals; quantity and quality (above and below), and triads (in all positions [inversions]).
